Hollow Creek, SC (Paul Kirby) – A three-story home in the 200 block of Turtle Trail was damaged by fire Friday morning. The call regarding the fire came in just before 9:30 a.m. Turtle Trail is near the Twin Bridges area of Lexington County south of Hollow Creek.
When the first truck arrived, that unit’s crew reported they had light smoke coming from the upper story of the home. As other crews arrived, they pulled their hoses and aggressively went on the offense attacking the fire.
Firefighters from multiple fire stations responded as did both battalion chiefs and another senior officer to monitor fire scene safety. County Fire Chief Mark Davis was also on the scene supporting his crews. Tankers were required because of a lack of fire hydrants in the area.
Lexington County EMS had a crew on the fire assisting with firefighter rehabilitation and monitoring everyone on the scene for safety. A special rehab truck from the LCFS also responded for that purpose due to the rising temperature outside. The firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the fire and save the home from being a total loss.
No injuries were reported and an investigation into the fire is underway.
