Fire destroys and damages multiple tractor trailers at US Foods Sunday evening

Lexington, SC 11/28/2022 (Paul Kirby) – Firefighters from the Lexington County Fire Service responded to US Foods at 120 Longs Pond on Sunday, November 27, 2022, after the county’s 911 Center received a call reporting multiple explosions at the facility. According to Jessica Imbimbo, spokesperson for Lexington County, the first call was received at 6:57 p.m.

Imbimbo said that when the first fire unit arrived, the crew found multiple 18-wheeler tractor cabs on fire. Firefighters quickly set up and began an attack of the burning trucks. At the height of the fire, the LCFS had nine units and 20 personnel on the scene. Together, these teams swiftly brought the fire under control.


There was a total of nine units damaged by the blaze with three fully involved, according to Imbimbo. The loss was estimated at $200,000.


No injuries were reported because of this fire. Its cause is still under investigation.
