White Knoll/Red Bank – 04/06/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A small truck or SUV caught fire and burned off South Lake Drive Monday afternoon. The fire, which was reported about 5:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of South Lake (SC Hwy 6) not far from Bethany Church Road and Pleasant View Drive, brought a response from firefighters with several Lexington County stations.
When Lexington County firefighters arrived, they reported that the small vehicle was fully involved in flames. Emergency crews shut down the road for a short period for the safety of the first responders that were working in the highway. As soon as the fire was out and the firefighter’s equipment was picked up and reloaded, the traffic began moving freely again.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
