Laurel Mississippi - The Midlands Dixie Youth Baseball All-Star “O” Zones won the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series yesterday morning with a final score of 6-0 over the team from Alabama! They travelled to play in Laurel, Mississippi after convincing wins in both the regional and state tournaments here in South Carolina.
This is the second team from Midlands to bring home a World Series win this year. Several weeks ago, the coaches pitch boys also handily won the title over an Alabama team as well.
The boys are expected to return to much fanfare on Saturday evening at the Midlands park on Fish Hatchery Road in Pine Ridge. We will keep you updated on the details of that celebration as we learn more.
