Lexington County councilman arrested


LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County deputies arrested Phillip Heyward Yarborough Jr. Sunday afternoon. Yarborough, 35, is charged with malicious injury to personal property.

He was taken into custody at his residence in the 100 block of Palm Point Drive in the Columbia area of Lexington County after deputies interviewed witnesses and determined there was probable cause to arrest Yarborough for damaging his father-in-law’s vehicle at the same location.

Yarborough is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center while he awaits a bond hearing. He is scheduled to appear in bond court at 10:00 am this morning.
