RED BANK, SC—With the advent of the Christmas season in the Midlands of South Carolina comes the annual celebration of the holiday featuring the best of the local music scene, Christmas at Red Bank, which will be held on Sunday, December 4th, at 6:30 PM. Now in its 11th year, the concert features local musicians performing traditional and not-so-traditional Christmas songs in the spacious sanctuary of Red Bank United Methodist Church ( www.rbumc.com ), on the outskirts of Lexington, South Carolina.
This is a free concert with an offering collected that goes to Lexington Interfaith Community Services (www.licssc.org ). Over the past 10 years that offering has been over $14,000, all of which goes directly to their mission of helping Lexington County families in need.
Several stories are emerging from this year's lineup. Local country-rock songwriter Nick Clyburn will be making his CARB debut, while Darren Woodlief brings a new ensemble of musicians dubbed The Dirty Gone Dolas after participating the last two years with the band Pocket Buddha. The other returning performers will be bringing some different songs to the stage than in years past, one of the things that keeps the show interesting year after year. As always, expect a surprise or two and some collaboration across the groups, several of whom share some of their members.
This year's lineup includes:
Brent Lundy
Bentz and May Kirby
James Etheridge, Jr. and Melinda Etheridge
Todd Mathis and Cully Salehi
Prairie Willows
Matt and Becky Goudelock
Jeremy Scott
Dawn Key Shotguns
Post-Timey String Band
