PELION, S.C. — Three Pelion High students recently achieved a unique, national accomplishment.
Bayleah Jackson, Brandon Myers and Ron Berry of the Pelion FFA chapter were awarded the American FFA Degree in a ceremony at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. More than 60,000 people attended the nationally televised convention in October.
The American FFA Degree is awarded to students who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to FFA and made significant accomplishments in their supervised agricultural experiences, which range from internships to research projects.
Less than 1 percent of FFA students receive the degree, making it one of the organization’s highest honors. Jackson, Myers and Berry are among only 19 students from South Carolina who received the degree this year.
