Cayce, S.C. (Jan. 13, 2017) – SCANA Corp. and its subsidiaries, including SCE&G, paid approximately $196.5 million in property taxes in South Carolina for property assessed in 2016.
“These dollars help support critical public services and have a significant impact in the communities we serve,” SCE&G spokesman Eric Boomhower said.
The largest single SCANA tax payment was made to Lexington County in the amount of approximately $39.1 million. Other significant payments included (approximate):
Aiken County - $9.4 million
Allendale County - $1.4 million
Bamberg County - $1.8 million
Barnwell County - $1.9 million
Beaufort County - $6.2 million
Berkeley County - $9.5 million
Charleston County - $18.8 million
Colleton County - $2.9 million
Dorchester County - $5.7 million
Edgefield County - $1.5 million
Fairfield County - $28.1 million
Florence County - $1.2 million
Hampton County - $2.7 million
Jasper County - $6.0 million
Lexington County - $39.1 million
Orangeburg County - $14.2 million
Richland County - $37.5 million
Saluda County - $1.2 million
Sumter County - $1.0 million
