Springdale, SC - On 3/7/17 at the Town of Springdale March Council Meeting, several officers were formally sworn-in as police officers and a supervisor.
Police Chief Kevin Cornett led the swearing in where the department welcomed new officers A. Plyler and C. Light.
Officer Plyler is starting her new career in law enforcement with the Springdale Police Department. Officer Light previously worked for the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department and will be promoted to Corporal as well as assume the role of K9 handler once she completes FTO. Springdale's K9, Bruce Wayne, was present to see his new partner swear-in.
The newly promoted patrol supervisor, Corporal C. Manuel was also formally sworn in as a supervisor. Chief Cornett proudly introduced Corporal Manuel as the supervisor over a week ago.
All three were introduced to Springdale Mayor and Town Council during the swearing in. Each officer had a family member pin on their badge. Chief Cornett says that this signifies that our families at home are also part of our family at Springdale. "Our family plays an important role in our job as they stress for us while we are at work and they are there for us when we have seen the bad things at work," says Chief Cornett.
We are proud to present our new officers and our newly promoted supervisor.
