Pine Ridge, SC (Paul Kirby) – A second alarm has been struck for a barn fire that is fully involved in the Pine Ridge, Gaston areas of the county. First due fire trucks arrived on the scene and reported that the barn was fully involved, other structures were threatened, and a fast-moving woods fire had already jumped a small adjacent road and was spreading fast.
Trucks from across the southern and central portions of the county are enroute to the fire to assist. Senior fire officials have requested assistance from Calhoun County as well.
Currently, other fire service administrators are working to fill in empty fire stations to keep the areas whose resources are committed sufficiently covered. Trucks and manpower from as far away as Lexington are enroute either to the scene or for fill in status.
