Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) Lexington County EMS began the transition into the new Class C uniforms for daily wear on March 20, 2017. The uniforms are not only sharp to look at, but they also have many features that make them a much better choice than the dark navy pants and light blue, dark blue, or white button up shirts.
The new uniforms include moisture-wicking under shirts and new light weight, breathable polo style shirts. This uniform gives the employees a highly professional appearance and are more functional for EMS work. They were utilized in the Paramedic Competition this year and were very well received by all of the employees that were involved.
EMS command staff will be assigned white uppers, while EMTs and Paramedics will wear blue uppers. These uniforms are much more reflective as well, adding a margin of safety to field work related to EMS.Crews often spend a significant amount of time on scenes where visibility is the key to safety.
