PELION, S.C. — Students at Pelion Elementary enjoyed learning so much this year that many did not miss one day of school.
Eighteen PES students earned perfect attendance, a milestone the school celebrated at the end of school. Principal Wendy S. West proudly thanked the students and their parents for prioritizing education.
“Attendance is key for a child to be successful in their school careers. Vital things are missed if the child is absent even just one day,” she explained.
Students with perfect attendance during the 2016–2017 school year include Kindergartner Scarlett J. Tharp; First-Grader Shay N. Jones; Second-Graders Santiago Estrada, Kaylee W. Kendall, Benjamin M. Spears and Skyler J. Walker; Third-Graders Andrew E. Northcutt, Avery K. Poole and Jamie L. Wilson; Fourth-Graders Lindsey M. Huckabee, James M. Livingston, Neveah L.
