The 5th edition of the Reggaetronic Music Festival benefitting Camp MATES and Autism Academy of South Carolina, has released their biggest lineup in the festival’s history. When asked about the 2017 lineup, Electric Promotions CEO, Ronnie Alexander said, “To further enhance the experience for patrons, we put a huge emphasis on talent this year.” Looking at the level of talent they have in place this year, it looks like they have successfully accomplished that goal.
Badfish, named after a song appearing on the Sublime album 40oz. to Freedom, is a Sublime tribute band from Rhode Island and will be headlining this year’s festival. By channeling the spirit of Sublime, Badfish has developed a dedicated following through their ability to capture the essence of the band they pay tribute to while maintaining their own style.
Ballyhoo, from Aberdeen, Maryland, has 20 years of experience and 12 albums which blend reggae, rock, ska, and punk. The band saw increased popularity with exposure of their music in various surf videos, skate videos, and compilation albums.
Electric Promotions CEO Alexander reminds everyone, “This floating festival is free to the public. Bring your boat and park in front of a floating stage holding speakers on cranes 40ft in the air, floating VIP areas, and a diverse lineup of entertainment. This event is unlike anything you have ever attended before. We look forward to seeing a crowd of thousands at Spence Island this year.” Asked about Reggaetronic, Badfish had one message, "'Lovin' is what I got' for Lake Murray, and remember to join us July 15th from 11:15 am to 6:15 pm at Jim Spence Islands.
