Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) A duplex in the older part of Cayce was damaged by fire Friday afternoon. It was on Julius Felder Street in one of the older neighborhoods of Cayce.
According to Captain Thomas Steinbring of the Cayce Department of Public Safety, the fire only affected the living room area of the home before it was brought under control. Steinbring said that public safety officers from Cayce were assisted in fighting the fire by personnel from the City of West Columbia FD and fire crews from Lexington County.
Steinbring said that the exact cause of the fire had not yet been determined. Their department is still looking into how it started.
