LCSD and Cayce DPS need help finding armed robbery suspect

Cayce, SC (Angelica Iglesias) - The Lexington County Sheriff's Department and Cayce Department of Public Safety are working together to find and identify an armed robbery suspect. The incident occurred Tuesday at the American Recycling facility on Charleston Highway near the old Cayce Farmer’s Market.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a grey t-shirt, blue jeans, a ball cap, brown boots or high-top shoes, and sunglasses. He is about 5' 8" with a thin build. Attached is a photograph from the business's security footage of the suspect wanted in the crime.

Investigators believe that the suspect fled the scene in a dark colored car. He may have had accomplices that helped plan the crime, and then assisted in his escape. This man, and any close associates, should be considered armed and dangerous.

The businesses owners say that the thief made off with a large sum of cash. The kept the cash on hand to buy metals and other recyclables from dealers.

If you have any information on the man or the incident, call 1-888-CRIME-SC.
