Springdale, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Springdale PD swore in one new officer this week and promoted another. The also gave their K-9 Bruce Wayne a little bump in his rank from “Pup” to “Super Pup!”
Officer B.J. Compton was sworn in Tuesday night as a new member of the force. His wife Chrystal pinned on his badge and insignias. Compton had formerly been with Pine Ridge PD as a part-time officer, and before that he was a SC State Trooper.
Compton is the son of Bruce E. and Rhonda Compton. He was raised in Pelion and graduated from Pelion High School.
Officer Gantt was also promoted to PFC. His promotion went into effect on December 17, 2017. Officer Gantt had recently been reassigned to K-9 and was partnered with K-9 Officer Bruce Wayne. Wayne, more often called Batman, was promoted to Super Pup! Instead of a raise, Batman will get a few more doggie treats for his hard work.
