Springdale, SC (Kaitlyn Kirby) – A new Dollar General is currently under construction in Springdale. The new store will be located at 2922 Platt Springs Rd. not far from the town hall and beside the Qwik Stop Mobile gas station.
Contractors have already started clearing the ground and are now waiting for additional permits before starting the building. The new building is 9,100 total square feet. It will have an attractive stone façade on the front, and this store will be the model for many of the new stores that will be built in the future in SC. It is being constructed by Dooley Mack Construction, Inc. out of Charleston.
Ashley Watkins, Springdale’s town administrator, said it should be finished and ready to open sometime in the spring or early summer.
