The Lexington-Richland School District 5 announces hurricane make-up days

Irmo, SC - The Lexington-Richland School District Five School Board has approved the first three make-up days lost due to Hurricane Florence. Students in School District Five will now attend school on Friday, March 29. Students will attend school on this day, which was previously scheduled as a Teacher/Student Holiday. On Monday, April 22, students will attend school on this day, which was previously scheduled as a Staff Development/Teacher Work Day.

The decision to close schools Sept. 11, 2018 – Sept. 14, 2018 was made under order of the governor as South Carolina prepared for the impacts of Hurricane Florence. The Board approved the three make-up days recommended by the district administration during a special-called Board meeting on Oct. 1.
