Lake Murray Elementary School goes ‘wacky tacky’ for Relay

Lexington, SC - One dollar at a time, Lake Murray Elementary makes a mark for cancer patients and cancer research.

Students and staff donate $1 to participate in different school events as part of an ongoing fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life.

Fun events include Wear Sunglasses to School, Hat Day, Tacky Holiday Wear and Crazy Socks Day, as well as “Make Their Day” events on the district collaborative planning days.

Donations of $1 per participant to wear a hat or dress up in a fun way go toward the overall LMES donation total. By the end of December, LMES contributed $450 to Relay — with half the school year still remaining!

The school plans to continue raising money with opportunities to send special messages to friends across the school and T-shirt sales.
