St. Andrews, SC (Paul Kirby) – An RV crashed on I-20 Sunday evening, overturned, and almost completely disintegrated bringing the interstate to a complete stop before the mess could be cleaned up. This all happened near the 63 mile-marker close to the Bush River Road interchange.
Firefighters from Lexington County and the Irmo Fire District responded, and an EMS crew transported the driver of the RV with what was described as minor injuries. Approximately 30 to 40 gallons of diesel fuel spilled, but none of it was able to make its way into the waters of the Saluda River. There were multiple law enforcement agencies on scene. The interstate was blocked for some time and many people said they were simply sitting stopped because they were stuck in the traffic jam.
