Chik-Fil-A on Sunset near I-20 hit by a vehicle Tuesday

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – A vehicle jumped the curb at the Chik-Fil-A at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Ginny Lane near I-20 in Lexington Tuesday. It then crossed the sidewalk and stuck the exterior of the building. The full-size Chevrolet ended up with some front-end damage and the building had a portion of its brick façade slightly pushed in, but both seemed to have just moderate damage. No one was seriously hurt in the truck or the restaurant.

Crews from the Lexington County Fire Service, EMS personnel, and officers from the Lexington Police Department responded to assess the situation and that equipment caused some congestion in the parking lot for a short while. Originally, the customers were evacuated but were quickly allowed to return to the building once it was deemed safe. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Lexington Police Department.
