Gilbert, SC - Members of the Palmetto State Teachers Association elected a Lexington District One teacher to a position of leadership.
Gilbert High School Teacher Frances M. Meetze will serve as treasurer of the PSTA Board of Directors. A 13-year veteran of public education, Meetze currently teaches U.S. history and government and economics at GHS.
Meetze previously taught middle school in Richland School District Two and at Mid-Carolina High School in Newberry County, winning District Teacher of the Year in 2016. She is a National Board Certified teacher.
PSTA’s Board of Directors includes six District Directors and five officers who govern the association. Each board member is a South Carolina public school educator who volunteers his or her time to participate on the board.
Palmetto State Teachers Association is the largest professional education association for teachers in South Carolina. Founded in 1976, PSTA provides professional benefits to support its members throughout their careers in education.
