Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Tipsy Toad Tavern has been named the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Centers 2019 Small Business of the Year. The award was presented during the chamber’s Annual Gala and Awards Banquet Friday night. The Tipsy Toad, owned by the Chapin Chamber’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Steve Wall, is located at 103-C Beaufort Street in Chapin.
Steve Wall and his entire staff are dedicated to the Chapin community. They don’t provide just great food and drinks; they frequently host special events that are fun and often benefit a great cause. Just this week they hosted a fundraiser to benefit three Chapin area teens that were seriously injured in a car accident several weeks ago. Look at their Facebook page and you will find a litany of other great causes they’ve supported.
Steve Wall has said many times before that he’s thankful to have a great staff that runs “The Toad.” "The Toad's" Manager Nikki Meetze and the remainder of their staff are super friendly and efficient, often serving crowds that are so large they spill into the streets during some of their functions. The staff is always willing to help you select from a great food and drink menu if you’re not quite sure what to order.
The Tipsy Toad is known for its neighborhood atmosphere, ice-cold drinks, great food, and live music. Their menu is elevated bar fare that features things like a seared Ahi tuna coated with sesame seeds as an appetizer or a main. There are also Toad Balls, pimento cheese balls that are rolled, coated, and then deep fried. It really is the way to a true southerner’s heart! Of course, they have chicken wings, great burgers, and much more.

We will try and feature all the winners over the next few days.
