Three deputies graduate Basic Law Enforcement course at SC Criminal Justice Academy

Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) – Last Friday, Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon and Captain Kevin Howard made a visit to Broad River Road. They didn’t go to interview an inmate at one of the prisons located there, or personally see someone processed in to spend time behind bars; instead they went to see three men graduate the Basic Law Enforcement course at the SC Criminal Justice Academy.

Dennis Bertwell, Andrew Harmon, and Trevor Miles will soon be patrolling the roads of Lexington County with all the other law enforcement professionals. They still have some training to do at the department, but the most intensive training is now behind them. They should be congratulated on deciding to dedicate their lives to a job that is very often under appreciated.

If you are considering a career in law enforcement, check out the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department’s webpage at www.lexingtonscsheriff.com. They are hiring!
