Irmo, SC - Mike Ward has announced that he is running for the open council seat on the Town of Irmo’s council. Ward, a political newcomer, ran for mayor in November but lost to longtime incumbent Councilmember Barry Walker. The seat he is now running for was left open when Walker was elected mayor.
Mike Ward is a local entrepreneur who is a licensed Health and Life insurance agent. He also does technology training for groups and individuals. Ward says his experiences as an entrepreneur provide him a great deal of practiced skills that he believes a good leader needs. Being an entrepreneur since 2006 has given him a unique perspective on problem solving and working with others for mutually beneficial solutions to problems.
In an earlier interview, Ward said, “We have to put people first. I plan to work hard to ensure that the town is always looking at the big picture when we make moves. I will work to improve our ordinances to help our town grow in intelligent ways. I will work to bring more events to our town for our community to enjoy.”
Ward has a well-built, easy to use website that explains his goals and platform if elected to council. You can see that and learn more about him at MikeWardSC.com.
