Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – During their announced Traffic Safety Checkpoints Friday, officers with the Lexington Police reviewed drivers, their documents, and vehicles on Railroad Avenue and Park Road in the town. According to a spokesman for the department, they spoke with over 600 drivers in more than four hours.
In that time, officers discovered nineteen violations. They included Driving Under Suspension, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle, Expired Registration, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Schedule II Drugs and others. Two drivers were arrested during these checkpoints.
The spokesman for the department said via social media, “The Lexington Police Department is committed to ensuring safer roadways within the Town of Lexington for its citizens and visitors through
enforcement and education.”
