West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) – Waffle Houses across South Carolina and several other states are giving their customers an opportunity to help honor our first responders and enjoy their great food all at the same time. Just like every other restaurant, their dining rooms have been closed because of the pandemic. Also, like other restaurants, you can get your Waffle House fix by ordering take-out that’s just as good as the eat-in items.
According to Jenny Hutto, a member of the Waffle House’s area management team, they had customers and employees that wanted to do something for the hardworking men and women on the frontlines of this fight against the COVID-19. That’s when management decided to put the “Pay It For Them” or “Adopt a First Responder” program in place.
Basically, this is so easy to do. When you buy a meal, or you just feel like you want to honor our first responders, call in an order, pick it up, and donate $8.00 while you are there. Not hungry for some Waffle House right then, the purchase certainly isn’t required. Just swing by the closest Waffle House and drop off your donation. Then, when a first responder stops to eat, the meal is paid for by the donor. If 100 people donate $8.00, 100 hardworking police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, and nurses will get their meal and drink on those kind people!
If donations run low, the Waffle House wants first responders to know they can still get their meals at 50% until the virus has been tamed. That’s any time, day or night. Let's all Google our closest Waffle House and make that donation today!
The program has been going for several weeks now, but the Waffle House could certainly use your help. It only takes a second to donate but the smile on the face of the first responder that enjoyed a free meal and drink donated by you, just might last all day.
