Brookland-Cayce High School athlete declared his intent to play soccer at the college level

West Columbia, SC 05/23/2023 - A Brookland-Cayce High School athlete declared his intent to play soccer at the college level.

Alex Rivera signed a letter of intent Tuesday with Francis Marion University. He participated in a signing ceremony in the school’s Hall of Fame Room attended by coaches, teammates, fellow students, family members, and faculty and staff.

Alex was a two-year captain and All-Region selection who played a key role in the team's back-to-back title appearances in 2021 and 2022, including the Bearcats’ first State Championship in school history in 2021. This season, he was selected for All-Region, All-State, and to compete in the SCHSSCA annual North-South game.
