Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board is proud to host the 36th annual 4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray

Lake Murray, SC 06/03/2024 - Let’s join together as a community to celebrate America’s birthday on Lake Murray! The Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board is proud to host the 36th annual 4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray on Saturday, June 29, presented by Lexington Medical Center.

South Carolina’s largest fireworks show will take place at dark, approximately 9:30 p.m. from two lake locations, Spence and Dreher Island. The show is synchronized to patriotic music that will air simultaneously on 93.1 The Lake.

Public viewing locations for the fireworks include both Lake Murray Public Park sites at the Dam and Dreher Island State Park. The Lake Murray Dam Park sites (Irmo and Lexington locations) will be open until they reach capacity. Please note that the construction on the Lake Murray Dam towers will impact the number of available parking spots on the Lexington side. Dominion Energy has instated new safety protocols for visitors. 93.1 The Lake will be at Dreher Island State Park broadcasting the synchronized music for the fireworks and entertaining the crowd. All normal fees will apply at park sites, state parks, boat launching sites, and marinas on Lake Murray.

The fireworks on Lake Murray are funded through Capital City/Lake Murray Country’s fundraising efforts at the Taste of Lake Murray each year, private donations, and the support of the following sponsors: Lexington Medical Center, Dominion Energy, First Community Bank, Palm Beach Tan, Bentley Pontoons, US FOODS, DoubleTree by Hilton, Trevett’s and Tidewater Boats. Donations are accepted year-round at the Visitor’s Center (2184 North Lake Drive, Columbia) or LakeMurrayCountry.com/donate.

Should thunder and lightning occur and cause a postponement, the fireworks will take place on Sunday, June 30th. For more information about the 4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray including parking please visit LakeMurrayFireworks.com.

The Annual Patriotic Boat Parade on Lake Murray will not take place this year due to the construction at the dam.
