Collision Causing Death of a Pedestrian

Pelion, SC 10/13/2023 – On Friday October 13, 2023, SCHP William Bennett reporting details of a fatal collision at approximately 7:55 am on Jim Spence Road five miles from The Town of Pelion.

Two units were involved. The first unit was a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. The driver of the trailblazer was the only one in the vehicle with no injuries.


The second unit was a pedestrian who died on the scene because of injuries. Details on the deceased can be obtained from The Lexington Coroner's Office.


Unit one was traveling east on Jim Spence Road while unit two was walking west on the east bound shoulder. Unit two was struck by unit one causing the killing of unit two. The collision remains under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.
