Lexington, SC 09/13/2024 - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the person who died in a single-vehicle accident in the 4000 block of Fish Hatchery Road near Kimmie Road in the Gaston area of Lexington County. This happened on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at approximately 4:25 p.m.
According to Coroner Fisher, Johnnie Elmer Fulmer III, 66, of Gaston was traveling north on Fish Hatchery Road when the vehicle he was traveling in ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. Fulmer, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
