Lexington, SC 11/12/2021 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the name of the man who was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Fisher said that this hit and run happened at approximately 6:25 p.m. in the 1200 block of Frink Street in the City of Cayce.
According to Coroner Fisher, John Wesley Butler, 64, of Cayce, was walking across the roadway when he was struck by a motor vehicle. The vehicle, described by witnesses as an SUV of an unknown make or model, did not stop after hitting Butler. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
The Cayce Department of Public Safety Traffic Division continues to investigate this crime.
