Coroner Fisher identifies victim of last week’s Muddy Springs Road fatal crash

Lexington, SC 05/08/2023 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has now released the identity of the man that was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Muddy Springs Road near Bledsoe Drive last Wednesday. This collision occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. that afternoon.

According to Coroner Fisher, Anthony J. Henderson, 36, of Lexington was traveling alone eastbound on Muddy Springs Road toward South Lake Drive when the GMC Envoy he was driving went off the right side of the road, hit the ditch bank, and then flipped over. Coroner Fisher said that Henderson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries he sustained in the collision.

Coroner Fisher closed her statement by saying that the South Carolina Highway Patrol and her office are continuing to investigate this collision. When the SCHP released their statement regarding this collision last week, they gave no indication that there was any indication that foul play was involved or that this was anything other than a tragic accidental crash.
