Lexington, SC 07/22/2021 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a single-vehicle collision on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in the Red Bank community of Lexington County. This collision occurred at approximately 12:10 p.m. near the intersection of South Lake Drive and New Orangeburg Road.
According to Coroner Fisher, Maurice Valentino Myers, 58, of Lexington was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. Myers, was traveling toward Lexington on South Lake Drive when his Chevy SUV ran off the left side of the roadway, struck some a trees, overturned, and then caught fire.
The incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
