Deputy State Treasurer & Lexington resident Cynthia Dannels graduates from Leadership South Carolina

Lexington, SC - South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis is pleased to announce the graduation of Deputy State Treasurer Cynthia Dannels from Leadership South Carolina’s Class of 2020. Dannels also has the distinction of being elected by her classmates to serve on the organization’s Board of Trustees for a two-year term.

Leadership South Carolina cultivates future leaders as the oldest and most respected statewide leadership program. The organization provides gifted and highly motivated South Carolinians an opportunity to advance their leadership qualities while broadening their understanding of state issues.

“The Leadership South Carolina Class of 2020 has learned what we at the State Treasurer’s Office have known for many years – that Cynthia Dannels is a passionate public servant who has committed her entire career to making a positive difference for the people of our state,” Treasurer Loftis said. “I know we will all benefit from her participation in this premier statewide program as she continues to implement innovative ideas and leadership principles as part of her ongoing duties.”

A graduate of the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, Dannels has worked in numerous roles for the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, the state Commerce Department and the South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority before joining the State Treasurer’s Office in 2014.  She is also a 2005 graduate of the Certified Public Managers Program. Dannels lives in Lexington with her husband and two children.
