DOT will conduct temporary closure of I-26 bridge over the Saluda River tomorrow night

West Columbia, SC 03/04/2025 - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will conduct a temporary nighttime lane closure on the new bridge over the Saluda River (Exit 108 B-A) on March 5 beginning at 10 p.m. and ending at 4 a.m.


This closure is necessary to complete the installation of new overhead signage over the bridge as part of Phase 1 of the Carolina Crossroads Project.

Traffic will be detoured using I-26 westbound to I-20 westbound to I-26 eastbound. Motorists will be directed to follow the detour onto I-126 eastbound and are encouraged to allow for additional travel time.


Message boards, lane closure and detour signs will be placed along I-26 westbound to inform motorists of the detour and temporary traffic pattern.
