Gaston woman arrested after being found in possession of meth

Gaston, SC - Lexington County deputies arrested a Gaston woman Tuesday and charged her with trafficking methamphetamine.

Gwenn Michelle Vandalen, 45, was arrested after deputies spoke with her regarding a property crime investigation.

“Investigators were looking for a suspect in an ongoing larceny case when they encountered Vandalen,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “She was in a camper on some property in the 600 block of Fallaw Rd.”

Narcotics agents obtained a search warrant for the camper after finding Vandalen laying on a bed near some white powder and a crystal-like substance, according to Sheriff Koon.

“We recovered more than 60 grams of meth from the camper,” said Koon. “Vandalen was arrested without incident and is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.”
