Halloween on Main returns to Batesburg-Leesville this year with a golf cart parade as a new twist

Batesburg-Leesville, SC 10/18/2022 (Paul Kirby) – Halloween on Main will be back in Batesburg-Leesville this year however, they’ve decided to hold a golf cart parade to add some extra excitement. Both the Halloween on Main and the Golf Cart Parade will be held on October 31, 2022.

Event organizers want you to use your imagination and decorate your cart in a spooktacular way. Just think about all the possibilities! Maybe a skeleton for a co-pilot, a ghost driving, and a few witches and zombies riding on the back. You can use lights, homemade or store-bought decorations wrapping the roof and its mounts, and more. You’re also asked to try and have candy on hand to pass out to all the little trick or treaters along the way.

The golf carts need to gather at Leesville College Park by 5:45 p.m. because the parade will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. It will go down Main Street to Railroad Avenue at Economy Furniture, pull a U-turn and go back down Main to Barr Price Funeral home or First Baptist of Leesville. There they will park for people to be able to enjoy looking them over the remainder of the evening. Some candy will be provided but that is limited. It’s best to bring your own. A group of esteemed judges will look the carts over and prizes will be given to the top three carts. You can sign up for the parade by following this link. https://bit.ly?GolfCartComp.

The Halloween on Main event will also start at 6:00 p.m. and will take place on Leesville’s Main Street business corridor. This is from Economy Furniture at Railroad Avenue to Tidwell’s Jewlers at the Columbia Avenue end. There will be lots of tables set up at each business with employees giving out candy. There will also be free games, shopping opportunities, trick of treating, food trucks on hand and lots of other fun things to do. Churches and civic groups are also encouraged to participate in this. The Halloween on Main event will shut down at 8:00 p.m.

All of this is being organized and sponsored by the Town of Batesburg-Leesville. Expect Main Street in Leesville to be closed before and during the actual event and plan accordingly. There will be plenty of police officers on scene to direct traffic and make sure everyone behaves as they should. If you need more information, check out the town’s social media pages.
