Irmo, SC 08/21/2024 - The Irmo Police Department has arrested and charged Maurice T. McQuire, 20, of Chapin, SC with Attempted Murder and Possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with a shooting incident earlier this month.
On August 3, 2024, Irmo officers responded to a residence in the New Friarsgate Subdivision for a report of a shooting. Although two houses and one car were struck by gunfire, no one was injured. Irmo PD’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to process evidence on the scene. After multiple interviews were conducted and evidence from the scene processed, warrants were issued for McQuire.
McQuire was taken into custody without incident Friday, August 16, 2024, and charged with 4 Counts of Attempted Murder and Possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and subsequently denied bond.
