Jason Burroughs and Darren Ashley make Fishers of Men History at Lake Murray

Lake Murray, SC 04/07/2025 - On Saturday, April 5, Jason Burroughs and Darren Ashley made Fishers of Men history by winning their second national championship. The two-man team clinched victory with a three-day total of 68.49 pounds, claiming the top prize of a Bass Cat Cougar FTD/Mercury 250 ProXS valued at $80,000. In a close competition, second place was secured by Garrett Geouge and Mike Grogan with a three-day total of 67.22 pounds, earning them a Bass Cat Bobcat/Mercury 150 ProXS valued at $40,000.
The 2025 Fishers of Men Berkley Classic Series National Championship was a three-day event held at Dreher Island State Park, hosted by Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC), and marked Fishers of Men’s first appearance on Lake Murray since 2007. The tournament featured over 350 anglers from more than 25 states (including Texas, Indiana, Missouri, and Maine) competing for over $200,000 in cash and prizes, as well as the title of “Fishers of Men National Champions.”
