Lexington, SC 01/22/2024 – Lexington County EMS will be hosting an Open House event on Wednesday, Jan. 24, to celebrate 50 years of EMS in Lexington County and to honor the members of Lexington County EMS, both past and present.
The Open House will begin at 3 p.m. at Lexington County EMS Headquarters at 407 Ball Park Road in Lexington. The first hour of the Open House (3 p.m. – 4 p.m.) is reserved for EMS retirees and executive officials. The event will be open to the public after 4 p.m. Snacks and refreshments will be available
During the Open House, EMS will pay homage to the five decades of service to the residents and visitors of Lexington County. Current members of EMS will transform the headquarters into a living museum, where guests of the Open House can walk through each decade on display and see how Lexington County EMS has transformed through the years.
EMS retirees will also be recognized during the Open House. Their names will be placed on commemorative plaques in the hallway of EMS Headquarters. This commemoration will be known as the “Legacy of Lifesavers” – where anyone walking the hall of EMS Headquarters can see the names of the dedicated lifesavers that came before them.
“This event is one of many that EMS plans to hold this year in honor of our 50th anniversary,” Deputy Chief of Operations Magen Hallman said. “This Open House gives us the opportunity to reflect on the advancements the EMS industry has made, and celebrate the people and their legacy that has paved the way forward.”
