Lexington County fire engine involved in collision Tuesday enroute to call

Red Bank, SC 11/29/2023 (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County’s Engine 313 out of the Edmund Fire Station was responding to an emergency on Tuesday around 2:45 p.m. when it struck a Jeep on South Lake Drive. The fire truck was enroute to backup Engine 324 out of Red Bank on another reported collision that had closed lanes of South Lake Drive when the crash occurred.

 


According to Jessica Imbimbo, spokesperson for Lexington County, a Jeep made a U-turn in front of the fire apparatus resulting in the accident. Imbimbo said that no LCFS members were injured, but they were evaluated by EMS as a precaution. One person in the Jeep, which flipped on its side, was transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
