Lexington County man dies after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Platt Springs Road Monday

Lexington, SC 03/25/2025 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has announced that yesterday, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing Platt Springs Road near Sandy Springs Lane in the Red Bank area of the county. This collision occurred on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Coroner Fisher said that 34-year-old Brian Austin Robinson of Lexington was crossing Platt Springs Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling toward West Columbia on Platt Springs Road. Robinson was pronounced dead on scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was not injured.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
