Lexington, SC 07/01/2024 - Monday, Lexington County’s Solid Waste Division announced their July 4th holiday schedule. Those schedule changes are as follows.
Curbside Solid Waste Collection
Residential Curbside Solid Waste and Recycling Collection in the unincorporated areas of Lexington County will operate on a partial adjusted pickup schedule during the week of Independence Day. No collection will be made on Thursday, July 4th due to the holiday. Thursday’s collection will be made on Friday, July 5th and Friday’s collection will be on Saturday, July 6th. Normal schedule pick-ups will resume Monday, July 8th

Collection and Recycling Center Schedule
All eleven Lexington County Collection and Recycling Centers are closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and will be closed Thursday, July 4th. They will operate as usual on Wednesday, July 3rd from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 5th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Lexington County Landfill
The Lexington County Solid Waste Management Landfill, located at 429 Landfill Lane, off Highway 302 in the Edmund community, will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. The landfill will open on Friday, July 5th at 7:00 a.m. and will also be open Saturday, July 6th from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Solid Waste Administrative Offices
The administrative offices of the Lexington County Department of Solid Waste Management will be closed on Thursday, July 4th for the holiday and will reopen on Friday, July 5th.
*PLEASE DISPOSE OF FIREWORKS RESPONSIBLY by ensuring fireworks are completely used, and cooled complete before disposing. Used fireworks (once cooled) may be disposed of in a tightly sealed trash bag in your curbside garbage roll-cart or placed in Household Garbage compactor at a Collection and Recycling Center. Unused fireworks should be brought to the Lexington County Sherriff’s Department for proper disposal.
