Lexington, SC 08/22/2023 – Roger Woods of Lexington has been named 2022 TOPS South Carolina King for losing 26 pounds, more than any other male in the state TOPS program. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a nonprofit, non–commercial weight loss, education, and support organization celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
In 2022, South Carolina TOPS members lost a total of 3,196 pounds. Roger attributes his weight loss success to his TOPS support system. “I have a good support system in our chapter. But I have had to learn you still must do the work. Day after day or week by week. My chapter is small, but they are mighty and determined,” Woods stated after receiving the award.
According to a statement released by TOPS, it is not a diet. TOPS is a lifestyle change for a lifetime. The organization has been fighting obesity since its founding in 1948. TOPS has tens of thousands of members – male and female, age seven and older – in its network of thousands of weight-loss support chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
Woods said recently, “I am grateful to have them in my corner. I hope all my TOPS friends find a support system such as mine. You will be blessed. You can take it to the next level and pass along those blessings to someone in need of them.”
