Lexington, SC 12/04/2024 - This Thanksgiving, Palmetto Garage Works, LLC, the proud owners of 22 South Carolina Midas locations, 6 Florida locations and 4 D.C. locations gave back in a meaningful way. Partnering with Family Promise, they identified three deserving recipients who were in urgent need of reliable transportation—and donated refurbished vehicles to make a real difference in their lives on November 20 at the Midas franchise shop located at 224 Bo Tire Way in Lexington, South Carolina.
The recipients included:
a young mother of two
parents of four children who have recently relocated and are in need of a vehicle during the day for doctors appointments and school activities, and to obtain and maintain employment
a young lady who moved home to help her single father care for her siblings, and is in need of a car to secure employment and attend classes at a nearby college.
“For us, being a part of the community is being invested in people and giving back in every way possible,” notes Gus Herlong, President and COO at Palmetto Garage Works, LLC. “My team knows that giving someone a car is more than just handing over keys, it's opening doors to new opportunities, and we’re excited to play a small part in their future success.”
Herlong was also recently awarded the 2024 Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award, which recognizes an independent tire dealer or retreader who, during the past year, has made significant contributions to the betterment of their community through charitable and/or public service work.
