The latest forecast from the National Weather Service, released this afternoon, indicates that severe weather conditions may impact our area throughout the morning. The biggest threat comes from the potential for extremely strong wind gusts over 40 mph. This could create hazardous travel conditions during both morning and midday bus routes, particularly since Wednesday was scheduled as a Collaborative Planning Day with adjusted dismissal times.

No school for students on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Employees should report to work at 10 a.m. and professional development activities scheduled for the afternoon will proceed as planned.

The Big Picture:
The district has been closely monitoring this storm system since Monday, hoping that no schedule changes would be necessary. However, after receiving an updated forecast from the National Weather Service late this afternoon and consulting with Lexington County emergency officials and neighboring school districts, they have determined that adjusting their schedule was the safest course of action.
In an email from district officials leaders said they understand that this announcement is coming later in the day than they would prefer, and they sincerely appreciate parents patience and flexibility.
