Lexington PD trying to identify a man they think stole a cell phone from a shopping cart at Wal-Mart

Lexington, SC 09/09/2024 (Paul Kirby) – Cameras at the Wal-Mart on Sunset Boulevard were watching recently when it appears that a man in casual wear proved he never learned to keep his hands off other people’s things while growing up. Now, a detective from the Lexington Police Department would like to introduce him to a judge that might be able to drive that principal home for him.

Apparently, on August 18, 2024, Wal-Mart’s eye in the sky got suspicious of this fellows behavior and begin watching him closely. Suspicions were confirmed when they watched him take a cell phone out of someone’s bag that was in a cart while they were distracted. Cameras got several great shots of this guy.

Notice that the subject has a large forearm tattoo on his left arm. At the time of the theft, he was wearing black shorts, sports shoes, and a white T-shirt. He may wear glasses that he’s apparently carrying in his left hand. They don’t look like shades so they may be prescription however, the photo from the parking lot does look like he has shades on.. He’s bald and appears to be wearing a goatee on his chin. He was in a white single cab GMC or Chevrolet pickup truck with after-market rims and chrome bars on the sides of the tailgate. That’s what he drove away in.
