Lexington Police Department continues to fight the war on shoplifters and organized retail theft groups

Lexington, SC 09/12/2024 (Paul Kirby) - The Lexington Police Department is continuing to fight the war on retail shoplifting in the town. They decided some time ago that social media and the public was one of their biggest allies in this fight. In other cities and towns, the police have decided to keep these types of crimes from the public and you rarely know these are happening on such a large scale even though they are.

In this particular case, Detective Januchowski needs help to identify this alleged shoplifter. He took merchandise valued at $200 from Lowes Home Improvement on Sunset Boulevard. This occurred on August 10, 2024.

This time, the detective is looking for a tall, well-built, black male that has on faded blue jeans and a t-shirt. He has medium length hair and a beard as well. He also appears to be wearing an ear ring in his left earlobe. He's also wearing sports shoes. Think about what he’s wearing in this way. Of course, he can change and may have 50 times since this incident. He may have 10 pairs of jeans and 20 t-shirts but most folks wear what they are comfortable in most every day. No one said you want see this man in a business suit but it’s most likely that he wears similar casual clothes every day. Lowe’s has done the police a great service by using clean, newer, high-resolution cameras that give you a good look at the suspect.

If you have information about this case, contact Detective Januchowski by telephone at 803-951-4642 or email at ajanuchowski@lexsc.gov.
