Lexington School District One adjusting school start and end times to improve transportation issues

Lexington, South Carolina 07/ 19/ 2022 - Lexington District One is adjusting their schools’ start and end times for all middle and high school students. This is to allow buses more time to transition between routes in an effort to improve transportation for students.


These times are slightly different from the times the District shared in late spring, so parents and guardians of middle and high school students need to note the new start and end times in order for their student to be on time for their first classes.

These are the new, official times for the2022–23 school year.


ALL elementary schools districtwide will begin at 7:40 a.m. – 2:20 p.m.


For the Lexington, River Bluff, and White Knoll area schools:

Middle Schools

8:05 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

High Schools

8:40 .m. – 3:50 PM


The Gilbert and Pelion area schools will have different middle and high school start and/or end times to provide students in those communities better access to Lexington Technology Center and The College Center.


For the Gilbert area schools:

Middle School

8:15 a.m. – 3:25 p.m.

High School

8:20 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.


The Pelion area schools:

Middle School

8:05 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

High School

8:20 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.


The district has posted these new start and end times on their website. These changes will start on the first day of this school year which is Tuesday, August 16.
